Roller blinds in Pakenham & Cardinia.

A single width of fabric wound onto an aluminium tube, held on brackets at the head of the window, that rolls straight down to cover the glass. Colour matters more than people expect. A light-coloured backing reflects heat outward, so a pale or metallic-backed blockout keeps a hot room noticeably cooler than a dark one with the same light-blocking rating. Control options

Standard operation is a side chain, which is cheap, reliable and easy to use. Cordless spring operation removes the chain entirely: you pull the bottom rail down and it stays, then a light tug sends it back up. Child safety

Looking after them

Roll the blind fully down and dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum brush head every few months. Spot-clean marks with a damp cloth and mild soapy water, working gently along the direction of the roll.
